Clubs
Clubs meet regularly on Tuesdays at lunchtime. The clubs offered each year may vary a little, as the departure from School of senior boys enthusiastic in a particular area may leave a gap which is difficult to fill. Clubs are supervised or run by a teacher.
In general, Clubs are confined to areas of activity which are not catered for elsewhere in the programme of the School, eg: there is no Club for English.

The Chess Club runs every day at lunchtime. Scotch competes in several Inter-School competitions. During the year there are several competitions for students to participate in. The major event is the 5 minutes Lightning Tournament.
Debating
Scotch students participate in 3 debating competitions during the year. These are the Inter-House competition, the WA Schools Debating League, and the AHISA Debating competition. The Debating season runs during Terms 1, 2 and 3 and teams from Years 8 to 12 are involved in this activity.
Dancesport Classes (Year 9)
Classes are conducted by Humphrey's Dance Studio during Term 2 for Year 9 boys.
These classes are usually held in the Dickinson Centre with girls from MLC.
Dancing classes may also be held for other year groups. Enquiries should be directed to Mr Freitag.
Class Times/Days
Tuesday afternoon from 4.00pm - 5.30pm
Boys will be asked to apply to join these classes at the end of Term 1.
The Promethean Society
The Promethean Society gives interested boys in Year 12 the opportunity to discuss topics of a cultural, ethical and philosophical nature normally in conjunction with visiting speakers and students from Methodist Ladies College.
