JUNIOR AND MIDDLE SCHOOL DAILY ROUTINE
The College is moving to a seamless Years 1-12, six period day timetable from the commencement of the 2009 academic year. Students are allowed to be on school grounds from 8.10am onwards where they will be supervised by a duty teacher. It is important to note that we are staggering our dismissal times for our Junior and Middle school to assist in the flow of traffic.

Junior School boys arrive at school from 8am onwards, when members of staff assume their duties for the day. Boys who arrive before 8.00am must stay in the quadrangle. From 8.00am to 8.20am, boys are supervised in the quadrangle. At 8.20am when staff commence playground supervision, boys may move to other areas. The oval is not used before school. All boys should be at school no later than 8.30am.
Setting Down and Picking Up Arrangements for Cars
There are two pick-up and drop-off points, the slip road in Shenton Road and the ring road in Stirling Road. Parents using the ring road should adhere to speed restrictions when inside the school grounds. Boys may be dropped off in the slip on Shenton Road or the ring road.
Parents should not drive down into Saunders Street off Wright Avenue or into the Junior School Car Park, as this is dangerous and causes congestion for the boys walking up and down Saunders Street.
End of the School Day
At 3.15pm the boys in Years 1 to 5 are dismissed from class. The boys in Years 6 and 7 are dismissed at 3.25 pm. At the conclusion of the school day, the boys may be picked up from the slip road in Shenton Road and the access road off Stirling Road. We are mindful that parents may need to pick up other children or prefer a slightly later pick up time. To accommodate this, boys may choose to go to the Junior School Library where they can read until 3.45pm. At 3.45pm the duty teacher will walk the boys down to the access road off Stirling Road where they are supervised until 4.00pm. Boys who are not picked up by 4.00pm are taken to the Junior School office and parents will be contacted to determine how the boys will be collected from school.
Summary:
3.15pm - Parents can pick up boys in Years 1 to 5 from Slip or Access Roads
3.25pm - Parents can pick up boys in Years 6 and 7 from Slip or Access Roads
3.30pm - 3.45pm - Any boys not picked up will move to the Library.
3.15pm - 3.45pm - Boys may be collected from the Library at any time.
3.45pm - 4.00pm - Parents can pick up from Access Road only
4.00pm - Boys taken to Junior School Office, parents contacted.
After School Care
After School Care is available for Junior School boys on a casual or regular basis on school days. After School Care is run by the YMCA of Perth at Mr Claremont Primary School on Alfred Road. Bookings can be arranged by ringing YMCA OSHC Administration 0414 293 044 office hours. Boys must be registered with YMCA OSHC before they can use After School Care.
Attendances
It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to personally notify the School Office when:
- their child arrives late at school;
- their child is absent from school; or
- their child is required to leave early from school or during the school day.
Parents are requested to communicate messages concerning absence and other matters early in the morning, preferably between 8.30am and 9.00am to the Junior School Secretary, Ms Torretti on 9383 6874. If the Junior School office has not received notification of absence, the Secretary will telephone to confirm that the student is at home. For the safety and security of our boys it is important that this procedure is followed.
Written notification to the Heads of School is required for any absence greater than two days or absence for family holidays during school time.
Absences
Notes from parents excusing their sons after an illness may take the form of a comment in the Record Book or a separate letter may be written to the Class Teacher. Absence as such should be noted in the Record Book. Parents requesting that a boy be excluded from Sport or Physical Education should also use the Record Book.
