OTHER ACADEMIC INFORMATION
Student Diary
The Student Diary allows each boy to keep a record of:
- His timetable and homework.
- His attendance and punctuality
- His performance
- Comments by staff and parents
- Interim Report
- Community & Service
- Health Centre Visits
All boys from Year 6 to Year 12 will use the Student Diary (SD). They are expected to take this with them to classes and to House periods.
Parents of day boys are asked to sign their son's SD each weekend. They should expect to find in it a record of the homework the boy has been set during the week. They may also see comments about the boy's performance. From time to time there will be test results or other assessments of academic progress entered in the diary. This diary is to be used for the whole year, and is a valuable tool to help with planning, studying and learning.
Boarders should present their SDs to their parents for perusal whenever opportunities arise. It is the boy's responsibility to see that his SD is signed by his House Head or a House Tutor every week. As the SD is an important learning tool, it must not be defaced or misused.
The SD then provides a steady communication between class teachers, House Head and parents. It will enable a House Head to see how a boy is progressing.
