Scotch placed first in the All Schools Chess Championships

Scotch placed first in the All Schools Chess Championships

Ten of our boys played in the Melville District of a state competition.

The competition takes the format of a Swiss, where after the first round your opponent has the same win loss record as you do. After 5 rounds if you have won 2 and lost 3, your next opponent will have the same record.

The results of our 4 best players counted towards the school's standing. Our 4 best players all won 6 and lost one, giving us 24 points 2 more than Leeming S.H.S.

The competition had 94 competitors.

Our individual results were:

Bailey Vanderzanden 3rd

Darcy Frazer 4th

Lewis Weeda 5th

Tom Krantz 6th

Lewis Orr 9th

Yuelin Shen 15th

Luke Henderson 19th

Sebastian Barrett 27th

James Schweizer 29th

Kerry Miller 36th

Congratulations to all the boys on their results.
