Scotch College developing STEM course with Curtin University

Scotch College has partnered with Curtin University on the curriculum for a new elective that asks Year 9 students to use Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to explore drone technology as a solution to real-life issues.

Scotch students also benefit from Curtin programmes such as Achievement Centred Engagement for Students (ACES), which includes workshops, seminars, academies and summer camps that build skills and strengths in innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Director of Teaching and Learning, Mr Pete Allen said  'The partnership with Curtin is one of many strategies to support the overall the College's strategic direction to develop a world class STEM programme that encourages Scientific inquiry, Technological innovation, Engineering ingenuity and Mathematical rigour.'

We are excited at the prospects that linking with a high performing University in Western Australia can bring to the College.
