Junior School Fathers' Day Breakfast
This morning 260 fathers and sons gathered in the Scotch College Dining Room for the annual Fathers' Day Breakfast. The event was a wonderful opportunity for the boys to enjoy a bacon and egg roll with their fathers and for the fathers to have some good social time with the other fathers from across the Junior School.
The highlight of the morning was a talk by Ross Lyon, Head Coach of the Fremantle Dockers. Ross spoke about his journey from a boy to an AFL player and from an AFL player, who retired at the age of 28 after 140 games, his first chance to move into coaching. He talked about what he learned over that time with the key message of the talk being try, fail and try again and always try to do your best.
They boys asked some wonderful questions following Ross' talk which he happily answered. It was a wonderful opportunity for the Junior School community and we thank Mr Lyon for giving up time from his busy schedule to come and share his experience and wisdom with us at the Fathers' Day Breakfast
