Scotch College shares a 'brother-sister' school relationship with Presbyterian Ladies' College, which means our students can have the best of both worlds: the undoubted benefits that single-sex education has to offer as well as opportunities to work alongside girls experiencing co-operation, equity and friendship.
Scotch shares some resources with PLC, which allows both Schools to offer more learning opportunities in a cost-effective manner. For example, we have a united information and technology platform. The Colleges share a single director of ICT.
One of the key goals of the MOU is to increase the curriculum offerings at both Colleges. As part of this strategy the Colleges have aligned their daily teaching periods and have also integrated the timetable for Years 11 and 12. The key driver is to be able to offer courses to both the boys and the girls that may otherwise have been unavailable. The strategy is not geared at the introduction of coeducation, but simply to provide choice at the WACE, Diploma and VET course offerings. In the main both Colleges want to maintain the benefits of what a single gender College can offer.
