At Scotch College, we aim to provide an environment in which each student feels safe, nurtured, recognised andaffirmed. The School recognises student achievement in a number of ways.
Student achievements (school and external) are recognised at School Assemblies and published in the Headmaster's Newsletter.
There are five areas of achievement - Academic, Arts & Culture, Community & Service, Leadership, and Sport. Students can participate in all of these areas and in the Senior School are recognised for outstanding achievement by receiving Colours or Honours.
The St Andrews Cross is awarded in recognition of achievement in a breadth of areas. To qualify for the St Andrews Cross a boy must receive Colours in all five areas. In recognition that the attainment of Honours takes extra commitment, a boy will also qualify if he attains Honours in one area and Colours or Honours in three other areas.
Subject, Industry and Proficiency prizes are awarded to boys in Years 8 to 12 at Speech Night each year.
