Taken from the Scottish Gaelic for gifted and talented, our Tàlantach Scholarships are key to the College's commitment to providing lifelong opportunities. Academically capable boys from all backgrounds, including those who are unable to attend the College due to financial reasons, are eligible for these Scholarships.

Covering up to 95% of school fees for the successful applicants, the Tàlantach Scholarships enable students with high academic potential to excel and equips them with the benefits of a world-class independent education.

This substantial scholarship recognises the founding values of our College and the desire to promote academic excellence and diversity.

The successful recipients will demonstrate:

  • Academic achievement or potential
  • Strong character and work ethic
  • Passion and drive to succeed

Applications for our Tàlantach Scholarships to join Scotch College in 2024 are now open.

Who is eligible?

Please note this scholarship is only available to students currently not enrolled at the College or at another PSA school. All applicants must provide proof of Australian citizenship.

All successful Tàlantach recipients and their families will be means tested annually to determine the percentage of tuition fees to be paid. Dependent on each family's financial situation, the scholarship will cover between 5–95% of tuition fees.

Academic testing

Students will be required to complete academic testing as part of the selection process.

Please email your supporting documentation to scholarships@scotch.wa.edu.au by Friday 15 September 2023.

Supporting documentation includes:

  • Latest school reports, plus any NAPLAN reports.
  • A letter addressed to the Headmaster outlining why you would like to attend Scotch College.
  • A minimum of two referee statements that provide evidence of personal attributes, community contributions, leadership potential and other areas of interest. Nominated referees may be from community organisations, sporting clubs, churches, previous or current school/s, and should not be family members. Ideally these statements will appear on an organisational letterhead, be signed by the referee and include contact details.
  • Any certificates, awards, invitations to participate, or other appropriate supporting documentation.
