Year 11 mentors

The Year 5 boys are currently halfway through the PYP Exhibition process. Exhibition is the culmination of five years of PYP schooling. The boys have been immersed in transdisciplinary theme of "Where we are in place and time" with the central idea "challenges, risks and opportunities may lead to migration." The boys have had a question and answer time with guest speakers from our own Scotch community, excursions to the Maritime Museum, East Perth Cemetery and Peninsula Farms, and they have even been 'evicted' from their own classroom to experience forced migration.

In order to help the boys develop a burning question for their research, the Year 11 Diploma boys have offered their time and expertise to the Year 5s. The Year 11s first visited with the Year 5 boys last Friday and after a friendly introduction (and some nerves from both sides) they were straight to work, sharing and developing inspiring ideas. The Year 5s felt excited about the opportunity to meet with their mentors and quickly realised that they were working with experienced, knowledgeable young men. We look forward to the opportunity to continue this partnership throughout the Exhibition, which continues through to August 19.

The Year 5 students, teachers and staff are thankful and appreciative of the Year 11's efforts and time.
