City to Surf 2010

Congratulations to all 143 registered runners of the Scotch Team for completing this fun event in beautiful weather. 2010 was by far our largest team with students, parents and staff represented from all campuses partaking in all events: 4km run/walk, 12km run/walk and half marathon. Lots of fun was had by all, with Perth putting on a fine display with the beautiful spring weather.

Particular mention should be made to:

- Alistair Henderson (YR 12 Ferguson) who won a prize for finishing in the top 100 competitions and 12 ^th in his age category in the 12km race with a time of 47.07 (average pace of 3.30 mins/km)

- All the parents and staff who ran the 21 km half marathon: Mr Richard Ledger, Mr Sean Mecham, Mr Lawrence Felgate, Ms Jane Mills, Ms Anna Clancy, Mr Rod Somes, Ms Sandy Regan, Mr Mike Gilmore and Miss Alex Welch.

The get together BBQ and drinks at the finishing line was well received by all team members despite the unwanted attentions of an overly officious Ranger. The bus shuttle runs back to school were also appreciated by those who did not want to wait in the long public queue. Regrettably Mr Steve Davey will be handing out many a mars bar to honour his bold challenge to boys prior to the race that anyone who beat him would be deserving of the prize!
