Scotch College has a diverse selection of stunning venues available for hire to the public. Our venues are suitable for all occasions from conferences and concerts to worship gatherings, sporting events and intimate performances.
Why book a Scotch venue?
- All our venues are air-conditioned and equipped with first-rate technical equipment.
- There is no equipment hire cost (this is included in our venue hire fees). Please note there are additional costs for cleaning, layout set up and event staff.
- We offer a unique inter-venue streaming system that enables conferences or performances to be live streamed from one Scotch venue into another.
- Catering is available and provided by Chartwells Catering. Email Chartwells on [email protected] to learn more about what they could offer for your event.
- Scotch event staff can provide on the ground event and audio-visual support (available for a small fee).
- We are pleased to offer discounts for not-for-profit and community organisations and Scotch College alumni. Please note this is on a case-by-case basis.

Our venues

Dickinson Centre (Unavailable as of 1 January 2025)
- Capacity: 1,092 guests (fixed seating); 636 guests (table seating); 246–414 guests (theatre style)
- Nestled in the heart of campus, the Dickinson Centre (DC) is Scotch College’s premium venue. The highly versatile venue’s large capacity and open format allows for a variety of events from fixed-seating conferences and assemblies to balls, concerts and more. The DC boasts a substantial stage and is equipped with a comprehensive audio-visual system including a line array PA system, five laser projectors, and inter-venue streaming capacity.

Dickinson Centre Foyer (Unavailable as of 1 January 2025)
- Capacity: 246 guests (raked seating); 72 guests (table seating)
- The DC Foyer is a multi-purpose space equipped with a retractable raked seating, projectors and PA system. The space can be easily adapted for fixed-seating conferences or a mixed-layout configuration of table seating.



Memorial Hall
- Capacity: 230 guests (fixed seating)
- Our historic hall was built in dedication to the many students and staff who served in World War II. Memorial Hall was significantly refurbished in 2018 to create a contemporary space with historic touches. The Hall features lecture–style raked seating, a PA system and large projection screen. The stage is multi-functional and can also be configured as a classroom or breakout room.



MacKellar Hall
- Capacity: 250 guests (fixed seating); 150 guests (table seating)
- This multi-purpose venue, with a classic hard-court floor, is ideal for hosting seated events and spacious enough to transform into a functional gymnasium. The Hall overlooks Scotch College’s incomparable 10 hectares of lush green playing fields and is equipped with a PA system and large projection screen.

PC Anderson Chapel
- Capacity: 200 guests (fixed seating)
- The spiritual home of Scotch College. Named for one of the College’s most beloved and longest-serving Headmasters, Mr PC Anderson (1904–45), the Chapel’s elegant interior is home to reclaimed stained glass windows, salvaged from the now-defunct Uniting Church in Swanbourne. Beautifully lit, the space is the ideal home for religious events, including baptisms, weddings, funerals, music recitals and intimate performances.

Dining Room
- Capacity: 200 guests (table seating)
- Overlooking the College’s 10 hectares of playing fields and Claremont Lake, the Dining Room is ideal for formal dinners or wedding receptions. The space is fitted with an audio-visual system, projector, LED displays and wireless microphones.

Foundation Theatre
- Capacity: 100 guests (fixed seating)
- Perfect for small-scale performances, this intimate theatre is equipped with a stage lighting rig and PA system.

Lecture Theatre
- Capacity: 76 guests (classroom seating)
- Our stunning wood-panelled Lecture Theatre is perfect for small-scale presentations and workshops. The space offers a state-of-the-art audio visual system, two projectors and recording facilities.



Gooch Pavilion
- Capacity: 300 guests (bleacher seating); 60 guests (clubroom seating)
- The Pavilion provides an impressive grandstand to view events held on the adjoining Memorial Grounds. The venue offers clubroom facilities, including bathrooms, changing rooms and a kitchenette.

Physical Education Centre
- Capacity: space / use dependent
- Our PE Centre hosts a full-size basketball court, substantial gym equipment, two classrooms, male and female change rooms and a 50m outdoor swimming pool. The basketball court can also be configured as two volleyball courts or four badminton courts.

Playing Fields
- Capacity: space dependent
- Spanning 10 hectares, our Playing Fields include:
