Headmaster’s welcome

Welcome to our great College

Scotch College is an independent school for boys, situated on 50 hectares of magnificent grounds in the highly sought after western suburbs of Perth.

We are located 10km from the CBD and 2km from some of the best beaches in the world. The College was founded in 1897 and has a proud history as a school of the Presbyterian Church, and, since 1977, the Uniting Church of Australia. Currently there are approximately 1,500 students enrolled across Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.

A community for life

When a student commences their journey at Scotch, they are entering a community for life. Since the foundation of Scotch College in 1897, we have welcomed over 15,000 graduates into a vibrant and supportive alumni community known as the Old Scotch Collegians.

With over 12,000 alumni currently living and working in Australia and across the globe, on graduating, our students enter an incredible, supportive network for life. The OSC continues to shape and support the personal and professional lives of our boys while at school and for many years after finishing Year 12.

Educational leadership

Scotch has been at the forefront of education In Western Australia and Australia since its foundation in 1897.

Academically and pastorally, the College is renowned as one of Australia's leading independent schools for boys and has a reputation for instilling a global outlook in our students. This is achieved through our international status as an International Baccalaureate school and member of the Round Square group of schools.

Our heritage

While we are known for our innovation, we are incredibly proud of our heritage and history. Our Pipe Band has performed across the world, including at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Educational excellence

Throughout our long history, Scotch has upheld a tradition of leadership and excellence in education. This is reflected in our innovative and progressive curriculum, which offers a strong focus on educational breadth.

Scotch is seen as an employer of choice, as reflected in the large number of applicants seeking to gain employment at the College. This demand ensures that only the highest quality candidates are chosen.

Visit our College

We welcome enquiries and invite you to see Scotch in action through a personal or group tour. On our in-person or digital tours, you will meet our students and see our school first-hand as you gain a sense of our strong community focus.

We also offer a Discovery Day experience of our school. This is an opportunity for prospective students to spend a day on campus with a programme tailored to their interests. I am also always happy to meet with prospective families to answer questions and share stories of our great College.

Student wellbeing

At Scotch, we pride ourselves on knowing the boy. Pastoral care and wellbeing is a key focus of our educational programme and all our staff play a role in ensuring our students are well supported as they progress through their schooling journey.

I sincerely hope you enjoy learning about our community and I look forward to assisting you in the most important decision you will ever make as a family; the education of your children.
