Tuition and Boarding Fees

Fees include normal sport, physical education, laboratory, library and excursions up to Year 12 and compulsory camps up to and including Year 9. For boarding students, accommodation, meals, laundry, ordinary mending and routine nursing attendance is included.

Device Levy (Compulsory)

The device programme provides students in Kindergarten and Pre-Primary with a 1:2 learning device (iPad) and students in Years 1–12 with a 1:1 learning device (iPad or iPad Air with Apple Pencil or MacBook Air) as part of the academic programme.

The programme includes the device, AppleCare+, cover or case, insurance (excess of $300 payable), technical management, and application support and training.

Music Tuition (Optional)

Music tuition is charged on an hourly rate dependent on the duration of each lesson. Lesson fees are charged each term in advance, based on the number of scheduled lessons in the term. Tuition includes musical equipment such as music stands, performance chairs and sheet music etc.

Instrument hire costs $350 per annum. The hire fee is charged at the commencement of the calendar year. This fee enables instruments to be maintained and upgraded as required.

Registration Fee

Local Students

A non-refundable registration fee of $150 (including GST) is charged upon lodging your Application for Registration. This fee is waived for children and grandchildren of Old Scotch Collegians.

International Students

A non-refundable registration fee of $300 (including GST) is charged upon lodging your Application for Registration. This fee is waived for children and grandchildren of Old Scotch Collegians.


Confirmation Fee

The Confirmation Fee is required to finalise your acceptance of the offer of a place. The fee includes a life membership to the Old Scotch Collegians (OSC) programme – our past student community; and a non-refundable, non-transferable Endowment Fee, which supports the development of new buildings and resources on campus. The OSC Membership Fee can be refunded if your son does not commence at the School.

Scotch College provides a 10% discount on the Confirmation Fee for boys entering Pre-Kindergarten, providing a commitment to continue at the College is made. If no commitment is made, one third of the Endowment Fee ($2,383) must be paid. For a boy continuing onto Pre-Primary the pre-paid fee is then deducted from the full Confirmation Fee. For girls entering Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten, the endowment fee is $1,225.

Conditions of Entry and Continuing Enrolment

By signing the Confirmation of Acceptance and Conditions of Enrolment forms, parents/guardians have agreed to be jointly and severally liable for all fees and other payments.


Payment of Fees

Local Students

Fees are charged in four instalments and must be paid one term in advance.

Accordingly, fees for Summer Term (February 2021) are due and payable at the start of Spring Term (October 2020). Fee instalments are due and payable on the first day of each term. A late fee of $150 will be charged on accounts not paid within 14 days of the due date. Any concessions will also be forfeited.

Parents have the option of paying the Annual Fee in advance with a 1% discount by Tuesday 13 October 2020. If selecting this option please advise us prior to the above date by email at fees@scotch.wa.edu.au.

A student may not commence a new school term if the fees for the preceding term remain unpaid 14 days before the next term commences.

Remission of fees because of absence due to illness or any other cause will only be made in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the College.

International Students

Fees are charged on an annual basis and are payable in advance by 30 January. A late fee of $150 will be charged on accounts not paid within 14 days of the due date. Any concessions will also be forfeited.

Concessions

The following concessions are applied to Tuition Fees for siblings attending at the same time:

  • 7.5% for the second sibling
  • 10% for the third and subsequent siblings
  • 2.5% for children of Old Scotch Collegians

Only one concession per child is granted.

Government Subsidies

Commonwealth and State Per Capita Grants payable direct to the School have been taken into account in determining fees.


Government Financial Assistance Schemes

The Isolated Children's Allowance, Youth Allowance, and Abstudy are administered by the Department of Human Services. Details are available on the following numbers:

Scotch Parents' Subscription

The annual levy of $100 per family will be included in the January account for the year. Payment is optional. Funds are used to provide additional resources to benefit all students.


Uniforms

New and second-hand uniforms are available from the Scotch College Uniform Shop. The cost is charged to the fee account or parents may pay on purchase if they prefer. For online ordering (payment by Credit Card or PayPal) please contact the Uniform Shop.


Insurance

It is strongly recommended that parents check their health and general insurance policies to ensure they have adequate medical, personal property and liability insurance cover as the School cannot accept responsibility for medical expenses (including ambulance) arising from an accident or illness, loss or damage to personal effects and property, or liability incurred by students for bodily injury.


GST

There is no GST on tuition fees, music fees or the IT device levy. The boarding fee does not include GST. GST is included in the registration fee.


Change of Circumstances

Please contact our Admissions team for any changes to the home address, email and/or phone number of any family member at admissions@scotch.wa.edu.au.


Notice of Withdrawal

One term's notice in writing must be given to Admissions prior to the withdrawal of a student from the School. In default of such notice one quarter of the annual fee is payable. Boarding students are expected to remain as boarders for the full year, from Summer Term through to and including Spring Term. Parents wishing to change the status of a boarding student to day boy must give a term's notice in writing to Admissions.


Variation of Conditions

This schedule is effective from 1 October 2020. The Council reserves the right to vary its business conditions from time to time.
