Entering Year 7, 2022
Each year Scotch College offers a number of scholarships for Australian residents entering Year 7 in the following year. Applications for our Year 7, 2022 Academic, Music and Boarding scholarships closed on Monday 8 March 2021.
Applicants must sit an academic entrance examination at Scotch College or remotely at their current school.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the Headmaster and Director of Admissions, Engagement and Communications.

Indigenous Scholarships
Applications for our Indigenous Scholarships for students entering Year 7, 2022 close Wednesday 30 June 2021.
Academic Scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence.
- J A Gooch Scholarship – awarded to an outstanding current Scotch College student
- G G Gooch Scholarship – awarded to an outstanding student from any school (outside of Scotch College)
- Open Entrance Scholarship – awarded to an outstanding student from any school (including Scotch College)
Boarding Scholarships
Each year Scotch College offers opportunities to outstanding students from rural areas to commence at the College as a Year 7 boarder.
Boarding Scholarships are available to rural, interstate and overseas Australian citizens.
Music Scholarship
Scotch College offers an opportunity for a talented, hardworking young musician to further their studies at Scotch College.
The Music Scholarship recipient must demonstrate a passion for music, a dedication to their musical journey and be willing to commit to substantial involvement in Scotch's music programme in order to achieve excellence during their time at the College.
Please note only shortlisted Music Scholarship applicants will be eligible for an audition. These candidates will receive further information regarding their audition from the Head of Music, following the examination.
Indigenous Scholarships
Scotch College offers annual scholarships to Indigenous students entering Year 7.
Applicants are selected based on their current academic progress, leadership qualities and interest in tertiary study. The scholarships, along with ABSTUDY and parent contributions, cover tuition and boarding fees from Year 7 through to Year 12. Parents or guardians are required to contribute financially to the boys' social activities and events, as well as extra-curricular items such as musical instrument hire.

Music Fellowships
Up to six Music Fellowships are offered each year for current and new students entering Year 7, who demonstrate natural musical aptitude and a passion for their practical musical studies. Music Fellowships are awarded to a musician from any background or experience level, with the College determining which instrument will be offered for future study.
Music Fellowships provide:
- A 100% remission of the annual music tuition fees for the allocated instrument until the end of Year 12.
- A 100% remission of the annual instrument hire charges for the allocated instrument (only for the first year of the fellowship).
Scotch College expects fellowship recipients to maintain a high level of musical proficiency and set an example to others in the Scotch community.

Year 11 Scholarships
Available to current Scotch College students
Each year Scotch College awards a limited number of scholarships for Year 11 students currently at Scotch College.
The scholarships cover a third of the fees for Year 11 and 12, and are available to students currently in Year 11. Scholarship funds for Year 11 are paid retrospectively (where applicable) for the successful applicant.
Applications for our 2021 Year 11 Scholarships have now closed. Applications for 2022 will open in late April 2021.
WR Dickinson Scholarship
This scholarship is available to all Year 11 students at Scotch College. This scholarship is awarded for academic merit, leadership qualities, co-curricular involvement and achievement in PSA sport.
PC Anderson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to Year 11 students at Scotch College, who are sons or grandsons of Old Scotch Collegians, for academic merit, leadership qualities, co-curricular involvement and achievement in PSA sport.
The PC Anderson Scholarship was established by the Old Scotch Collegians to commemorate the contribution made by PC Anderson as Headmaster.
