Finishing the Bibbulmun Track

After 967 km, 48 huts, hundreds of litres of water and countless blisters, 13 Scotch boys completed the final leg of the Bibbulmun Track.

The Bibbulmun Track is a world class long distance walk trail, stretching from Kalamunda to Albany through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia. Over the last five years the group of thirteen experienced camping at it's best with breathtaking scenery running from the views of the Darling Range in the north to the Southern Ocean in the south.

The final leg, taking seven days, wound along the coast from Peaceful Bay to the Southern Terminus in Albany. Accompanied by their tutor, Chris Menage, and an experienced outdoor adventurer, Mark, the Keys boys walked with high spirits and sandy shoes. The last 50 metres of the entire track was of an emotional sort with Tim Carr playing the pipes to the Terminus where the boys were congratulated by their teary parents, staff of Scotch and friends of the Bibbulmun track.

The 13 boys that were lucky enough to do the Bibi will take much away from it. They learned a lot of their own character and of others; forged stronger friendships with other walkers; gained an appreciation for the little seen, yet amazing environment we are so privileged to live so close to and the memories of all the fun along the way.
