Pre-Kindy Perth

Co-educational Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

At our Early Learning Centre, we take a holistic view of child development, with each stage of our curriculum designed to prepare your child for the next stage of schooling. As the first step in the educational journey, our private Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten are co-educational to create a sense of familiarity with the environment your child already knows. By Pre-Primary, your child has settled into an established routine and is ready to transition to single-sex schooling.

If you would like to enrol your child in one of Perth’s leading private Pre-Kindy or Kindergarten programmes, get in touch with us on +61 8 9383 6800 today.

Child-led Early Learning Centre

At Scotch, we are committed to ensuring your child has the opportunity to put their best foot forward from the early learning stages, which is why our innovative play-based pedagogy merges the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme with Reggio Emilia principles. Our teachers observe your child's play and listen to their questions to find out what interests them, and then create opportunities to explore their passions further.

In the process of having fun, your child will be developing the foundations for literacy and numeracy – and a lifelong love of learning.

Scotch College's campus adjoins Lake Claremont. We take full advantage of our unique position to offer an authentic nature play programme, with every Tuesday and Thursday devoted to Bush School.

As an IB School, we nurture students with a global outlook. This starts in Pre-Kindergarten, at an age when the brain is very receptive to a second language, with all children learning French.

Small class sizes

We know children learn best when they feel safe and have a sense of belonging. Smaller class sizes in our Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten programmes allow our teachers to cater to the individual needs of your son or daughter. We regularly assess their skills in a range of areas to help us tailor their learning programme. All children are screened by our Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, so we can identify early any underlying issues that may need attention.

Eligibility

Please note children must be the following age to begin our Early Learning programmes:

  • Pre-Kindergarten: must be three years old prior to starting
  • Kindergarten: must be four years old or turning four before 30 June of that year
  • Pre-Primary: must be five years old or turning five before 30 June of that year

Flexi-day programmes

Thanks to our flexible Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programmes, you can choose which days of the week your child attends. While we always attempt to accommodate families' preferences as much as possible, please note that all enrolments are dependent upon class availability.

Enrolment information

  • Children must attend a minimum of two days of Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten a week.
  • We recommend booking as early as possible to assist us in accommodating your preferred days.
  • If you would like to increase the number of days a week your child attends, please notify us as far in advance as possible.
