Introducing our new Head of Middle School Brad Gill

Scotch College is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Brad Gill as our new Head of Middle School, commencing in Autumn Term 2021.

Mr Gill has joined us from his role as Head of Primary School at St Mark's Anglican Community School, which has an enrolment of 550 students from Kindergarten to Year 5. Since 2016, he has delivered dynamic projects in line with the school's strategic goals and built meaningful professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues. Mr Gill is highly regarded in the school community as a people-centric leader, mentor and innovator.

Mr Gill has a Bachelor of Arts from Edith Cowan University, a Bachelor of Education from Curtin University and a Master of Education (Leadership) from Edith Cowan University.

Within the education sector, he is a member of the Aspirant Leaders Programme facilitated by the Association of Heads of Independent Schools Australia, the Australian College of Educational Leaders and Independent Primary Principals' Association.

Mr Gill's educational employment history includes classroom teaching, boarding, curriculum coordination and sports coordination at Guildford Grammar School, Head of Mathematics at K. International School (Tokyo), Head of Middle School at Greenfield International School (Dubai), Director of Lower School at Hawken School (USA).

During his employment at Greenfield International School, Mr Gill led the establishment of their International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. He has since managed and delivered the International Baccalaureate Programme at schools across the world. Grounded in Christian values, Mr Gill is an advocate of Christian traditions and currently serves as a parishioner at Whitford's Anglican parish.

Mr Gill's experience as a boarder, student and Captain of School at Guildford Grammar School will allow for an invaluable understanding and connection to our Middle School students, particularly boarding students. His affiliation with the Public Schools Association, as a student and subsequently a teacher, ensures he is fully conversant with the context which Scotch College operates in.

We are confident that Mr Gill's extensive educational employment history, his educational philosophy and penchant for mentoring young people will hold him in excellent stead to lead our Middle School through the next stage of our strategic plan.

Our sincere thanks to the Middle School staff and community for their continued support. We would also like to acknowledge the exemplary leadership and ongoing commitment of our Acting Head of Middle School Mr Gareth Williams during this transitional phase.

Please join me in welcoming Mr Brad Gill, his wife Susie and their children Kelsey and Riley to the Scotch Community.
